Why every order needs a consultation

Modified on Thu, 2 Jul at 5:25 PM

Every order placed with us needs to have a completed consultation attached to it. The consultation is how our doctors confirm that the medication you are ordering is safe and suitable for you. Without it, the order cannot be reviewed or dispensed.

Who this applies to

This article applies to all customers placing an order, whether it is your first order or a repeat. Each order needs its own consultation, although for repeat orders most of your previous answers will be saved and you can simply check they are still accurate.

What a consultation is

A consultation is a short medical questionnaire on the product page for the medication you want to order. It asks about your health, any conditions you have, medications you are currently taking, and (for some treatments) your height, weight, or recent photos. The doctor uses your answers to decide whether the medication is safe to prescribe.

How to complete a consultation

  1. Go to the product page for the medication you want on oxfordonlinepharmacy.co.uk.
  2. Click the yellow "start my online consultation" button at the top of the page.
  3. Answer every question as fully as you can. The more information the doctor has, the faster they can review your order.
  4. Once you have finished, you will be taken back to the product page where you can complete the order.
  5. Some products may require a secondary consultation to be completed in order for the order to proceed. Please check your account for information.

Common scenarios

  • You started a consultation but it has timed out. The yellow button reappears when this happens. Click it again to start a fresh consultation.
  • You are reordering a medication you have had before. Most of your answers will be saved, but you should check them in case anything has changed since your last order - some things will need to be re-asked for safety's sake

What to do next

Your order cannot go through without a consultation first, go to the product page and complete the questionnaire. Once it is submitted, the order moves into clinical review.
